1/4/12
It’s the start of a new year and time to solidify my training and racing goals for the season.
Long Term Goal
Let’s start with the long term goal – for well into 2013 – to break the Hour Record in the 40-44 YO age group.
The most recent World Hour Record for the 40-44 age group was set on Oct. 18, 2011 with a distance of 45.95933 Kilometers. My goal would to break 46.25K. Based on 3 minute data I have from a 3K IP I raced outdoor at the Encino Velodrome on 7/22/07, I was able to hold 29 mph at an average of 382w.
Based on 3 minute data I have from a 4K IP I raced indoor at ADT on 6/9/07, I was able to hold 28.8 mph at an average of 360w.
To complete 46.25 Kilometers in the hour, I need to average 28.74 mph and about 360w, with lap times at ADT of 19.4 and 19.5 seconds.
